Submitting a Referral

1

Open a category

Expand any category accordion on the home page. The + Add Referral button appears at the top of the list.

2

Fill in the details

Enter the provider name, your referral URL, and an optional note explaining the offer (e.g. 'Get £50 credit when you switch').

3

Submit for review

Our team reviews every submission — typically within 24–48 hours. You'll see it appear once approved.

4

Track performance

View click counts and votes on your referrals from the My Dashboard page (available to paid members).

Voting & Reporting

Upvote

Mark a referral as genuine and working. Helps surface the best referrals to the top of each category.

Downvote & Report

Flags a referral as broken, expired, or misleading. A report is automatically filed for admin review alongside your downvote.

Voting is available on Standard and Pro plans. Abuse of the voting system may result in account suspension.

The ⓘ Icon

What does the ⓘ icon show?

Tap ⓘ on any referral to read the provider's terms for that offer — including eligibility criteria, reward conditions, and any expiry dates. Always review the terms before clicking through so you know exactly what you need to do to qualify for the reward.

Trust & Safety

Moderated submissions

Every referral is reviewed before going live. We check that the URL is genuine, the provider exists, and the offer is accurately described.

Community quality control

Votes from paid members bubble the best referrals to the top and flag broken ones for removal. The platform gets better the more you engage.

Referral expiry

Referrals automatically deactivate after their validity period ends, keeping the directory fresh and reducing stale referrals.

Financial disclaimer

Referrals in the Money category relate to financial products. TrustRefer is not a financial adviser. Always read the provider's terms before proceeding. Your capital may be at risk.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does referral approval take?

Most submissions are reviewed within 24–48 hours on working days. You'll see your referral appear in the relevant category once approved.

Can I edit a referral after submitting?

Referrals can't be edited directly once submitted. If you need to update a URL or offer details, email us at support@trustrefer.co.uk with your change and we'll update it for you.

My referral reward hasn't arrived — what do I do?

First check the provider's stated timeframe (often 30–90 days). Then contact their support team directly — tap ⓘ on the referral to review their terms, which usually include instructions for chasing a missing reward.

What happens when my referral expires?

Your referral is deactivated and removed from public listings. You can re-submit it and, once approved, it starts a fresh validity period.

Can I use a referral for myself?

Referral programmes are run by the individual providers — check their terms. Many require the referred person to be a new customer.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Click your name in the top-right corner, go to Dashboard, then select Billing from the left sidebar. Click Cancel plan, then confirm. You keep full access until the end of your current billing period — no partial refunds are given.

Is my payment information stored by TrustRefer?

No. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. TrustRefer only stores your subscription status and tier, never card details.

Can I apply a promo code?

Yes — promo codes can be entered at the checkout screen when upgrading, or from the Billing section of your Account page if you're already signed in.
